Quality Assurance Statement

At Jumba Engineering Services Limited (JES Ltd.), quality is not an afterthought — it is embedded in every drawing, every cable laid, and every system commissioned. For over 40 years, we have earned the trust of government institutions, private developers, and multinational partners by delivering projects that consistently meet and exceed expectations. Our Quality Assurance (QA) framework is built on international standards, local regulations, and a company-wide culture of excellence.

Our Guiding Principles of Quality

  1. Standards-Driven Workmanship
    • All electrical and infrastructure works are executed in line with IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) standards, IEEE guidelines, and Kenya’s Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) Class A1 licensing requirements.
    • Our civil and structural engineering activities comply with NCA1 accreditation standards and the Kenya Building Code.
  2. ISO-Certified Processes
    • Our quality management systems align with ISO 9001:2015, ensuring documented procedures, continuous improvement, and third-party validation.
    • Health and safety are safeguarded under ISO 45001:2018 and the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA, 2007, Kenya).
  3. Testing and Verification
    • Every system undergoes rigorous factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT), and commissioning checks before handover.
    • Testing includes:
      • Insulation resistance tests (IEC 60243)
      • Earth resistance tests (≤1 Ω for substations, per IEC 60364)
      • Transformer relay and protection coordination
      • Power quality analysis for harmonics, surges, and load balance
  4. Skilled Workforce
    • All projects are led by registered Professional Engineers (PEs) under the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK).
    • Our technicians are continuously trained on evolving standards such as NFPA 70E (Electrical Safety in the Workplace) and emerging renewable technologies.

Our QA Methodology

We employ a structured QA/QC process for every project:

  1. Design Review — peer-reviewed drawings, load simulations, and safety factor checks.
  2. Material Verification — sourcing only from certified suppliers, with quality checks against IEC specifications.
  3. On-Site Supervision — dedicated QA/QC engineers overseeing installation works.
  4. Testing & Commissioning — validation against performance benchmarks.
  5. Post-Implementation Monitoring — preventive maintenance and audits to guarantee lifecycle performance.

This systematic approach has been successfully applied on projects ranging from substation testing at Two Rivers Mall, 1MW solar installations at Shalimar Farm, to government institutional cabling and backup power systems.

Commitment to Continuous Improvement

Engineering is an evolving field. At JES Ltd., we invest in R&D, training, and process audits to continuously improve quality. Our engineers are encouraged to adopt the latest global practices while tailoring solutions to Kenya’s unique grid, climate, and regulatory environment.

The Result

By maintaining strict QA controls, we guarantee:

  • Safety-first installations that protect life and property.
  • Efficient systems that optimize power usage and reduce losses.
  • Longevity of assets, lowering lifecycle costs for our clients.
  • Confidence and trust from stakeholders who depend on reliable infrastructure.

👉 At Jumba Engineering, quality is not inspected in — it is built in from the start. This philosophy has sustained us for over four decades, and it will continue to guide us as we expand into construction, renewable energy, and advanced engineering solutions.
